Our Rims
These rims are made
entirely at the Yates Banjo shop located in Hickory, North
Carolina. These prewar style three ply rims are designed to perform
just as the old prewar flathead rims do.

Legend says, "Wood has to be old to have that old dry sound". The best
rims were made in the 1930s for sure. We have been told that the rims
built in the 50s were not as good. NEWS Flash! Those rims are
now old too. It is our belief that the old flathead banjos were
"right" the day they left the factory. The perfect rim was built back
in the 30's; and now, once again, the perfect rim is once again being
produced at Yates Banjo. |
